Camp ArLA: New Trails in Library Service
Our 2026 theme, New Trails in Library Service, embraces exploration, stewardship, resilience, and discovery — drawing inspiration from the spirit of our own Hot Springs National Park. This year at our annual conference we will celebrate the ways libraries are:
- Blazing new paths — Showcasing innovative programs, services, and partnerships that chart bold directions for libraries.
- Exploring uncharted terrain — Examining emerging trends, technologies, and community needs that require creativity, curiosity, and courage.
- Building strong trail networks — Strengthening connections within and beyond our communities through collaboration, outreach, and shared purpose.
- Practicing stewardship — Demonstrating sustainable practices that protect resources, nurture staff well-being, and ensure long-term impact.
- Reaching new summits — Highlighting professional growth, leadership development, and transformative learning that elevate the work of library professionals and paraprofessionals.
- Reading the landscape — Exploring how library services intersect with and respond to cultural, environmental, and societal shifts.
Just as trails guide explorers through forest and mountains, this year’s conference will illuminate the way forward — equipping attendees with practical tools, fresh perspectives, and renewed inspiration to navigate the evolving terrain of library service.
